Shelbourne Road

This large period house occupies a prime location in Dublin on Shelbourne Road overlooking the Aviva Stadium. Previous to being snapped up by one of our property developer clients, the house had been used to house foreign English language students and was in dire disrepair. Our brief was to convert the property into 10 high-end studio/1 bed apartments to appeal to a demographic of young professionals working for the various big tech companies in the near vicinity.

Whilst being a period property, there were virtually no period features remaining other than large room proportions and high ceilings that we used to our advantage to create dynamic completely self-contained studio apartments packed in with full kitchens; shower-rooms; sleeping, living, and working areas.

Edit Design Studio was able to achieve these fully formed spaces by using levels and mezzanines where possible and well-designed built-in joinery to divide the spaces up cleverly and maximise the floor space footprint.

We juxtaposed the period building with crisp modern interiors. Sticking to a monochromatic colour palette of black and white and using an acoustic walnut slatted panel as a feature in each apartment.
